Place: Room B5-31
Time: 13.00 – 14.30
Description: After having given an overview of the language teaching concept at Carinthia University of Applied Sciences the preconditions for a teaching process that fosters autonomous and flexible learning will be discussed. In an interactive session the participants of this workshop will take on the roles of learners and experience autonomous and flexible learning elements. Moreover, well-tried teaching examples that enhance autonomy and/or flexibility in the students learning process (at beginner as well as advanced level) will be given. Then the results of a survey about how CUAS students see and experience these two elements in their language classes will be presented. A discussion based on these findings should allow the participants to share their own experience on this issue and also help to get a clearer picture on how much autonomy and flexibility is needed to optimize the learning process and consequently the learning outcome.
