Ms. Karolina Strózycka, Jan Amos Komienski State School of Higher Vocational Education in Leszno, Poland
Place: Room D407

Time: 15.00 – 15.45
Description: I am going to focus on how to help learners become autonomous foreign language readers from early stages on. First, a brief introduction into the nature of the reading processes will be given. Then, some ideas of how young learners might be encouraged to read will be presented. Finally, I will analyse the lesson model which promotes the use of learner strategies in the process of independent reading (stages, steps, aims and techniques) and give the participants a chance to design their own pre- and post-reading activities.
